According to research, eSports gaming alone will be a $4 billion global business by 2018, with the Asia Pacific region taking up more than 50% of the pie.

These numbers came from someone who knows what he is talking about. Michael Wolf is a top business strategist who used to serve on the board of Yahoo. He is also credited for helping brought Marissa Mayer in as CEO. His work experience include working as a managing partner at McKinsey and as a COO for the MTV networks.
He recently gave a presentation at The Wall Street Journal’s Conference on the future of tech and media in 2016.
In one of the slides, he revealed that mobile gaming earns more than console gaming and is a close second to the leader of PC/Web gaming.
It was also mentioned that there is a massive audience on Youtube watching others talk games or play games. Taking metrics from the top 15 Youtube video gaming channels, the total video views is at 47 billion, total subscribers at 165 million and the average view per video is at 1.3 million.
